It depends on the shell surface area and the grid spacing. For each square foot, a grid uses about two divided by the spacing in feet of linear bar — running in both directions. A typical 1,000-square-foot shell on a 6-inch grid needs roughly 4,000 linear feet before adding a lap-and-waste allowance.

What size rebar is used in pools?

Number 3 (three-eighths inch) and number 4 (half inch) bars are most common for residential pool shells, with number 5 (five-eighths inch) used in deep ends, expansive soils, or where the engineer specifies. Heavier bars add strength and weight; always follow the structural drawings for size and spacing.

How do I convert rebar to sticks?
